Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or location entered in a search box is sent to the outside company that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its result; Kenton County Criminal History does not retain a local log of the terms entered.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email or other direct message may be retained long enough to respond and maintain the related correspondence. It is not voluntarily disclosed outside the organization, although a binding legal requirement may compel disclosure.
Data We Gather Automatically
Ordinary server and analytics logs can collect technical details when a page loads, including:
- Page-view times and the pages visited
- Device category and operating system
- Browser name and version
- The device's assigned IP address
- Approximate time spent on a page
- A referring website, when supplied
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies stored through the browser and aggregated analytics help show traffic patterns, popular resources, and where visits end. Browser controls can reject or remove cookies, though disabling them may change how some features operate.
What We Do With This Data
- Diagnosing failures and other technical problems
- Maintaining performance and site availability
- Routing a search query to the provider selected by the tool
- Measuring which resources visitors use
- Serving advertising that may reflect inferred interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
Kenton County Criminal History does not keep, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal records. Its editorial material points to the Kenton Circuit Court Clerk, local police and detention custodians, the Kentucky Court of Justice AOC Records Unit, the Kentucky State Police Criminal Identification and Records Branch, and the Kentucky State Police Sex Offender Registry. Visitor data is not assembled into a consumer report or a third-party criminal record, and the site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search boxes and apply their own privacy terms to submitted queries. They control retention, processing, and disclosure on their systems. Review the provider's policy before entering information because this policy does not govern that processing.
Links to Other Websites
Links to Kentucky courts, Kenton County offices, police agencies, legal resources, and search services lead to independently operated websites. Their policies take over once a visitor leaves this domain, so their terms should be checked before personal details are supplied.
Advertising providers may use their own technology to recognize activity across websites and select ads. That processing occurs under the provider's controls.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may nevertheless be processed by:
- Analytics providers measuring traffic and performance
- The search provider receiving a submitted query
- Advertising networks placing or measuring advertisements
- A government or law-enforcement body acting under valid legal authority
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security measures are used to protect collected information. No internet service can guarantee perfect security, however, and this site cannot promise that unauthorized access will never occur.
Users Under 18
The service is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. A verified request concerning information supplied by a minor will be handled by removing that material.
Your Data Rights
Rights depend on the law that applies to the requester and the data. Kentucky's Open Records Act, KRS 61.870-.884, governs records held by public agencies rather than this private site, while KRS 17.185 supplies a separate route for a person to review qualifying KSP criminal-history information about oneself. For information this site actually holds, a person may ask to:
- Receive a copy where applicable law provides access
- Correct inaccurate personal information
- Delete eligible information
- Object to processing when a legal opt-out applies
